There is growing public awareness and concern about the pressures that human activities are exerting on biological diversity throughout the world. Globally, stakeholders, ranging from citizens to companies and governments, are acquiring a deeper understanding of the effects of their actions on the environment and biological diversity and of their responsibility to care for and conserve them for future generations.

Communication and outreach play key roles in advancing this understanding and in encouraging responsible action. Forest-PLUS 2.0 is working closely with the State Forest Departments to reach target audiences with program messages in a simple and interactive way. The program is promoting lasting positive changes in behaviors and in forest management practices within and among the communities and stakeholders. Some of these activities include social awareness campaigns, short interactive videos, social media engagements, promotion of required educational materials, video documentation, development of environment education centers, and program events. The program is also strengthening communication between communities and stakeholders to participate equally in the program activities.
